Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jenna Katherine has been passionate about music from a young age. Her love of music began at the age of 4, when she attended her first concert (Carrie Underwood), a moment that inspired a lifelong admiration for Underwood and inspired ignited Jenna’s dream of becoming a singer-songwriter. Although Jenna began writing songs at the age of 10, it wasn’t until she penned her original song “Friend Zone” in the 6th grade that she truly recognized her talent for songwriting. That early experience motivated her to continue developing her skills in writing, singing, and playing guitar.
Jenna started with piano lessons at a young age, but after three years, she discovered a real passion for guitar. Throughout her school years, she participated in choir, which helped her develop strong vocal abilities. Her musical journey took a significant turn when fellow musician Bri Bagwell encouraged her to attend Kyle Hutton’s “Real Life, Real Music” songwriting camp. Over the next several years, Jenna learned from industry veterans such as Kyle Hutton, Bri Bagwell, Marcus Eldridge, Josh Grider, Drew Kennedy, and Courtney Patton. This experience deepened her love for guitar and songwriting, solidifying her decision to pursue a music career.
Over the years, Jenna has had the opportunity to perform alongside respected Texas Country artists such as Bri Bagwell, Sarah Hobbs, Matt Caldwell, Jason Allen Brian Black, and Marcus Eldridge. She has collaborated with industry professionals like Stormy Cooper Media (Roger Creager) and Lyndon Hughes (The Wilder Blue), who have become invaluable mentors in her musical development.
In addition to her music career, Jenna is currently in her sophomore year at Texas State University, where she has earned a spot on the dean’s list each semester while balancing her studies with her musical aspirations. She has mastered the art of managing time between school, writing, singing, playing guitar, and mentoring younger students.
In 2019, as a freshman in high school, Jenna recorded her debut EP Sugar & Spice with Stormy Cooper and his team at Stormy Cooper Media. On Christmas Day 2020, she released Sugar & Spice to all streaming platforms, marking a major milestone in her career. Since then, Jenna has continued working hard on new music. In October 2024, she released two new singles, “Finger on the Trigger” and “Tennessee Dreaming,” available on all streaming platforms.
Jenna is currently focused on writing and recording her next project while continuing to pursue her passion for music, with her sights set on an exciting future in the industry.
